Have you ever dreamed of traveling to Tokyo? This fascinating city is one that tourists from all over the world come back to again and again in search of new experiences. Don’t get us wrong, it’s a lot of fun and will give you just as many memories, but the best advice we can give anyone is that they should take their time! Get lost in the labyrinth of streets and alleys; explore some more obscure areas where you might stumble across a hidden gem.

Regardless whether your goal is travelling abroad or just experiencing Japan for yourself; these might be four things worth seeing when visiting:

1. The Meiji Shrine

Located by the side of Edo-Tokyo Station, this shrine is better known as a shrine for the Japanese people. It is dedicated to Emperor Meiji, the man who initiated the Meiji Restoration in 1868. He was also Japan’s first emperor and was named for his efforts to open Japanese society up to foreign influences. The shrine even has its own crematorium. Additionally, on November 3rd, Emperor Meiji’s birthday is commemorated in a special ceremony at the Shrine with other high ranking leaders until 2011.

2. Shibuya Crossing

This is one of the most famous and recognizable places in Tokyo. It is located in the Shibuya ward, a well-known entertainment district. This is where you’ll find many of the city’s latest trends being shown off practically right under your nose whether it be fashion or music. The pedestrian crossing is especially crowded during rush hour, but even then it will be a sight to see.

3. Tokyo Tower

Known as the “Eiffel Tower of the East”, this is another one of Tokyo’s most recognizable landmarks. It has a height of 333 meters and is located in Shiba Park, which is more commonly known as Minato-ku. This area is known for its many other attractions, including many art pieces and cultural institutions within itself. There are also a lot of temples to check out around here!

4. Roppongi Hills Tokyo Skytree Town

The Roppongi Hills district is located in Minato-ku once again and it’s home to many new buildings and structures, including the Tokyo Midtown complex including the Mori Art Museum. Not only that, but there are also a lot of shops and restaurants to check out. This is one of the most popular places in Tokyo for people to gather, especially between the hours of 6 and 8 PM. It’s best to visit at night here too when you can go up to the Skytree Town observatory located on the 60th floor!

Conclusion

If you love Japan, then it’s only natural that you would want to go there. The above four things should give you some places to visit, but don’t hesitate to go out and explore the city on your own or with a tour guide. Either way, we guarantee you’ll have an amazing time!
